Shapiro and Hatcher Libraries
Where: Shapiro Library lobby, 919 S University Ave, Ann Arbor, MI 48109
Explore the undergraduate and graduate libraries at the University of Michigan. Highlights of this tour include exploring creation and learning spaces like the Computer and Video Game Archive and the Design Lab.
Detroit Observatory
Where: Entrance on, 1398 E Ann St, Observatory St, Ann Arbor, MI 48109
Come see the sky and journey back in time by visiting the Detroit Observatory built in 1854 — one of the oldest observatories in the nation. Highlights of this tour include learning about telescopes, seeing why the observatory was constructed the way it is, and discoveries made here!
Clements Rare Book Library
Where: Front entrance of Clements Library, 909 S University Ave, Ann Arbor, MI 48109
Go behind the scenes with a brief presentation about conserving rare materials and a tour of rare collection materials at the Clements Library. Highlights include touring the Avenir Foundation Reading Room to browse books, graphics, manuscripts and maps.
Newcomer Dinner
When: Monday, May 13, 2024, 6pm or later
The Newcomer Dinner is an opportunity for veterans of the code4lib conference to meet and welcome first-timers. Attendees sign up to join others for dinner as a gentle introduction to the code4lib conference.

When: Tuesday, May 14, 2024, 7:00AM
Join fellow code4lib runners as a group runs around the Arboretum ('The Arb'), University of Michigan's nature preserve area. This run will be 2.9 miles, led by Michelle Janowiecki and it is a non-drop run, so all should feel welcome. Meet at the entrance at 7am.
Game Night
